After doing much research on SUV's I came to Gillaman Subuaru on a referral from my auto insurance and test drive the Outback and the Forrester. Allen Cooper was my salesman and helped me out in a very professional manner with the various cars and options during the search. I was impressed with his honesty and integrity, before, during and after the sale. The hardest part of the sale process was dealing with the Business Manager, Mr. Taha, who I found to be rude, arrogant and lacking in manners. He gave me a very hard time just because I wanted to finance my car through my bank. No customer should be made to feel like a criminal, and he did just that, all over a back check.

Buyer Beware Don't be deceived or bullied into making a costly mistake like I did at Gillman Subaru. When they tell you a price and say plus TTL, don't believe them. Let me set the stage, I went into the dealership to simply buy a Subaru Forster, no trade-in to deal with, no financing to worry about (I was paying cash), this should have been a simple transaction. Instead I was sucked into a performance of deception and intimidation. The first character was the salesman, who came across as a likable enough fellow, our dealing was straight out the typical car buying process manual, he gave me a quote, I countered, he went to his manager and came back with the fake dealer invoice, but lowered his quote, I countered again, he ran back to his manager and again lowered his quote, I made my final offer, he ran back to his manager and came back saying yes, $25,000 plus TTL. I was feeling fine, this had taken less than 15 minutes of haggling. Next is where I suspect I was customer profiled into one of Gillman's well rehearsed and orchestrated closing acts, since I'm a senior I fell into the let's wear him down and then see what we can get past him scenarios. I asked the salesman for the final price and he said the Finance Manger would go over that with me, but not to worry it was only going to be $25,000, plus TTL. The salesman left, and the first finance manger came in, shook my hand and said to sit tight, he would have the paper work ready in 5 to 10 minutes, 30 minutes later a new finance manger came and said he was doing the paper work and to sit tight, it would only be another 10 minutes, the salesman came back, said the car was ready, I asked what was up with the finance manager, he said not to worry he would try to sale me the extended warranty and all I had to do was to say no. Finally the Finance Manger called me into his office, handed me some forms to sign, none of which had the final car price on it, made his pitch about the extended warranty, then handed me the final sales form and said to sign it and make the check out to Gillman Subaru. I quickly spotted a charge of $249.00 for PDR, which I was told was for getting my car ready, I said I wasn't going to pay that, he took the form from me and jumped up mad and yelling, (wasn't sure at the time who he was mad at or yelling at, looking back this was his bulling and intimidation act). Anyway he came back still with his pissed off demeanor face on and said he took it off and gave me a new form to sign. I glanced over it, and quickly signed it and gave him the check, I figured I had found all the hidden fees and wanted to get out before the guy blew up again. The next day I looked over the invoice and saw I paid $189.00 for a Documentary fee, and $55.20 for a Dealers inventory tax, (this for a car that had according to the salesman only been on the lot for a few hours). My attempt to have this refunded was to me was of no avail, the salesman blamed the finance manager, but directed me to Gillmans communication manger, who told me to go play golf.
