I tried my best to not talk about the issues I had here and discuss this privately with leadership in the facility and with cooperate but to no avail. I've work at Sarasota Point as the Director of Nursing and I have say this experience has changed me. No longer do I trust leadership at the facility or cooperate level. My first mistake was believing Laura to be a person of her word. Laura Haraburda NHA is the biggest liar and can not be trusted. My last paycheck was short and when I brought this to their attention still no action. She believes that it okay to share residents private information in meetings with housekeeping supervisor and maintenance director in the room. When I asked her not to do so because of HIPA violation immediately became defensive. She states this is how we always done it and I've run several facilities for Southern Healthcare Management. Laura even called her supervisor Fred Landy NHA VPO and she stated he agreed that it's acceptable to speak about residents private health information in front of non clinical staff. This led me to believe that not only is your problem at Sarasota Point but a systematic problem in the company at large. Laura doesn't like to be wrong and had me terminated for challenging her authority. There is also favoritism and racism through out the facility. Laura allows the social services director who happens to be white to come in late and leave early. She even cost residents money by not completing all necessary paperwork, but she gets to keep her job. Laura has often made excuses for her as well as delegate her work to other individuals. The company terminated the black unit manager who was coming in late because she got injured in facility poorly maintained parking lot. She was taking pain medication that caused her to sometimes over sleep.
