This was, by far, the easiest experience I have ever had with a computer repair. I have a Microsoft Surface so my repair is considered a specialty repair. Apparently, it is easy to short these computers out and even the Microsoft store won't do it. They prefer to swap the machine out for $450 rather than fix it. CPR is a specialized professional and they were able to replace the screen for me for only $290 out the door, a savings of $160! If I was willing to wait 7-10 days, I could have done it cheaper by sending the machine out to a specialty shop. Garrit ordered the part and was able to do it in an hour the day after I first called him. I saved myself the shipping costs and time by paying a little bit more for the repair and in return, I got personal and friendly service which turned out to be important in two ways. First there is always a risk to your data when you disassemble the machine and second, there may be other things going on that an impersonal service will miss. Because he took the time to talk to me about the computer, he learned that i was having a problem with fan noise which he also fixed and he cared enough to protect my data and the computer came back to me in the same operational state as it was before the damage. how many times have you had your machine comeback but wiped of data or malfunctioning? Plenty! In my experience it's always been a risk and I am a power/business user who can little afford to have a big break in my operational time. HATS OFF!
