I had a very disappointing experience here. At the end of January this year, I was a victim of domestic violence. My ex-partner and I each have separate storage units on the same floor. After the incident, the police issued him a restraining order. However, the storage staff deactivated my access code instead of his. I was told that I needed to “stop causing trouble” for them, even though I was the victim in this situation. I understand businesses have policies, but the way this situation was handled felt extremely insensitive and lacking basic empathy. When someone is dealing with a traumatic situation like domestic violence, the last thing they should experience is being treated like they are the problem. I hope the management can improve their training and procedures for handling sensitive situations like this in the future.

Great, customer service. Steve Charlish was excellent. He got me into the right unit at the right price. Would highly recommend to anybody who needs storage on the north shore.

I have been renting at this storage facility for years. I appreciate the cleanliness of the building. The BIG PROBLEM is the price. Over the years the price has gone up. I finally spoke to the manager at the end of the 2025 and asked for something to be done as the advertised price was a lot lower than what I was paying. He changed the price for a mere 6 months. Now in February 2026 the advertised price for the same sized unit is approximately $100 less than what I am currently paying. The manager said that they could not change the rental price of my storage locker in the system. They said that if I moved to a larger storage locker I could get the larger locker’s advertised price and that I would have to pay every 28 days rather than month-to-month as I do now. Since Maple Leaf Storage changed ownership, they have new tenants or ones who transfer to a different locker paying every 28 days rather than monthly. By doing this Maple Leaf Storage is able to generate an additional month’s worth of rent (29 extra days). I’m not asking for anything extravagant. I’m only asking to be treated fairly and given the advertised price. Edit: It is now March 2026 and I feel that I must downgrade the previous 3 star rating to 1 star as I have received a notice that my rent will be ballooning to over $400 as of the end of April for a 10x10 locker. This is disturbing and disappointing as I was given a discount in January for 6 months in which I am currently paying approximately $330 (advertised price is $235). I can no longer in good conscience recommend Maple Leaf Self Storage.
