    I made several visits to attempt to purchase a vehicle, provided all of my income verification, residency verification ect. Got an approval on two separate cars, and then they both got sold because my sales person was incredibly slow and inattentive. Didn't seem interested in actually making a deal. I said I could do 1000-1500 down and possibly trade depending on how the title was written on a car I own. I'm a self-employed individual who gets his income from some rather unsavory sources in the eyes of most banks (food delivery, rideshare, package delivery and I also do insurance adjusting), I don't have a great credit score on top of everything. I saw this happen and felt incredibly disrespected. Armed with the knowledge that I knew I could get approved by Santander and their affiliates I went shopping around other dealerships through either Santander or one of their affiliates. I ended up getting approved through another dealership, buying a car, and setting myself up for future success. It is highly unlikely I ever shop with Lee again, as this is the second time in 10 years when I've needed a car they have run my credit, got me an approval and then pulled the rug out from under my feet. If I didn't have somewhere to land (this happened to me at the same dealership in 2016) it would have caused irreparable damage and set me back months.

    Don't rely on handshakes. They were able to push through the financials, (mine lack luster) But the car I applied for was sold the next morning. I really liked that car.
